Hi fellow Mongunians!!! :)

I am flying into UB from Beijing on Mongolian airlines flight OM224, arriving at 11:55hrs on Saturday 2nd August.

I depart UB on the trans mongolian railway on Friday 13th September at 0705hrs, heading south back to Beijing.

I'm spending about a week in Beijing after the tour, and then flying to Europe for another month of holidays spending time in Denmark and the UK.

Anyone who wants to come along for the train journey south back into China, you're more than welcome. My advice is to book the train sooner rather than later, as apparently it can be difficult to get tickets at the last minute. The train trip takes just over 24 hours, getting into Beijing at 1405hrs on Saturday 14th. Should be a great experience!!!

Looking forward to another great tour with some familar faces (including teddy), and lots of new ones as well.

Cheers, and see you in UB!!!

Daniel: 2 Aug is a Monday. And 13th September isn't a Friday...

Hello there. I haven't paid for the tour nor booked my flights yet but I'll do so once I get logistics on my end sorted out (Which will be in the next week or so!)

I'm likely to leave from Singapore on 31 July and head back home on 13th or 14th Aug. I'd be keen to travel around on the weekend before the tour starts if anyone is in town and wants to do so. I have a good feeling the trip will be absolutely insane given I don't ride offroad much and I haven't camped out in my life. You've got to start somewhere right?

Hello fluffybunbun,

Whoops, my bad, i was looking at the wrong section of my itinerary. I arrive in UB on MONDAY 2nd august, then leave UB on FRIDAY 13th August. I accidently looked at the date i leave Europe, which is MONDAY 13th September. If you could see my itinerary you'd understand where the confusion stems from. 8 international flights in 1.5 months. Fun fun fun.

See you in UB, and btw, is fluffybunbun your real name? :P

Cheers,

Dan

No it's not. The name's Jiahui.

I've just got my flights settled. I'm flying in 31 Jul and flying out 14 Aug. I guess there won't be much travelling in Mongolia before or after Monguni for you!

What're the 8 flights? It DOES sound like fun.

The forum's apparently not the best means of communication judging from the monologues :)

Haha, yes it appears so. Perhaps we should start a facebook group? All the cool kids are on facebook these days. Haha. I look forward to a great tour, should be a blast. Is there any offroad stuff in singapore for you to train on? I was there a few years ago and don't remember much in the way of mountain bike tracks.... see you in UB :)

Sorry Dan and Jiahui,

There hasn't been much communication on this tour.

If you want to discuss it on FB, you can do it on the Adventure Unicyclist FB page. Start a new discussion on the discussions page.
