Welcome to the NZ Unicycle Federation forums. We have set up three UNICON XV sub-forums for disussing everything you want to know about Unicon XV.

Please keep all UNICON XV topics within these three UNICON XV sub-forums. There are plenty of NZ riders and Unicon Organisers who will be able to answer your questions and help you organise your trip.

Feel free to post in the non-Unicon XV forums also, but keep it non-unicon related to avoid doubling up on topics and to keep everything together.

Many thanks,

Unicon Advertising

Postby Rowan » Wed Feb 11, 2009 1:01 am

Who is in charge of advertising before the event?

Have you got a team of people in every town letting all the NZ riders know it is on, and what to expect?

Where can I lay my hands on a bunch of those flyers? I've run out...

NZ team??

Postby bigt002 » Thu Feb 26, 2009 10:11 am

Will the kiwis have some sort of team organization ?? or is this sort of an anti country and anti national anthem thing??? I have read other comments regarding this at previous unicom and support the non national ideas. But if we having national anthems are then perhaps a NZ team thing would be good.

We've never had more than 3-4 riders at Unicon in the past. The NZ team have always called themselves Team NZUNI (pronounced N'zoonee or N-zed-uni).

Because this Unicon (should) have the most NZ riders ever, it would be fun to get together a national side- and eg get sponsorships etc.

Most overseas teams have a T-shirt or other national team colours....it's a good item to swap.

We will be having a opening parade with all the different countries represented.

There didn't seem to be too much problems in Denmark Unicon 14, but at Unicon 13 the national team thing got some French riders rather upset.

To me, Unicon is the Olympics of Unicycling. It would be like going to the Olympics to watch the New Zealand team competing, but everyone turning up to represent themselves instead of wearing a Silver Fern.
