Hey All

Just had a meeting with the organizers. Have found a place to ride. And they have got only round 16 pallets. If anyone has any more, or any good objects to bring along, let me know and we can take them down on friday avo/evening, or early sat morning.

Location is in the following URL http://maps.google.com/maps/ms?source=s_q&hl=en&geocode=&ie=UTF8&hq=university&hnear=Waikato,+New+Zealand&t=h&msa=0&msid=102842711256692835757.00047f9cbeff556681460&ll=-37.783248,175.319653&spn=0.00753,0.01899&z=16

Time to meet is 9am at this spot. We will then set up the area. I am racing at 9:20 so will be gone for an hour or so.

A few rules for the event. Mandatory to have Helmets, so you must bring one along and wear at all times when riding. There are a lot of people there so we need to be careful when riding in the crowd. We can ride anywhere in the REV festival, but are largely based at the above URL, and surrounding area.

If people can bring any learner uni's that would be great as they are keen to get people riding.

As I said above, bring any obstacles, if they are heavy we can drive almost to the area then lift.

They are going to try to bring nails, we need to bring a few hammers.

They would like us to be around from 9-3. We don't have to ride all day. So we can take breaks when we need.

I'm sure I have left stuff out so any questions let me know.

A question for the Hamilton people....

Who has pallets? 16 is NOT going to be enough. I personal would need at 25+ to make a good course

i think station wagons can carry about 4 pellets at a time. i would say ideally we would want a lot more than 16 pallets. it doesn't look like there is anything around the unicycling area to incorporate into the course either. but in saying that, if we have a few bits of scrap wood and some hammers and nails we could make a few sandwich boards which are pretty cool.

also, its not just trials riders turning up so you guys can do some sweet flat trick and things. and we can run little comps like gapping and high jump.

i think we should do our best to scrounge up as many pallets as we can and then just get super creative on the day.

I agree with all above. We have access to the venue from thursday evening, and it does have night time security so if needed there could be a few pallet runs on thurs and friday.

They are keen for us to get out and about, riding different things around the area, so we are not just limited to the one place. There is a nice street tricks area in the next car park (which i hope there not using) which has a raised footpath that looks about 2 rev's wide. Also there are good fences, and skinnies around the place.

If everybody could bring what they have that would be great. I'm keen for high jump and long jump comps, as well as making obstacles with the gear we have.

yeah, we could do the long jump as a gaping contest. 2 or 3 pallet high stacks and just move them further and further apart. and high jump could just be on pallets also. just stack them higher as we go.

me and the welly guys will be up on Friday night so we can probably assist in some pallet runs and building. i have a small car that could probably fit 3 or 4 pallets in it with most of the seats folded down.

i think everyone will have to help as much as they can to make this a good weekend.
i will try to find a hammer to bring, but we will need a few of them.
long screws and an electric screwdriver would be the best thing for building with. if anyone can provide a good battery powered screwdriver that would be great.
